What you notice
Click. No crank.
  1. 7:40 AM · Key to START

    Click. No crank.

One click and silence often means a tired starter or a bad connection to it.

We test the battery and cables first, so you never pay for the wrong part.

    Starter replacement
  2. 7:41 AM · Engine running

    Battery light on. Lights dim.

With the engine on, a healthy charging system reads about 13.5 to 14.5 volts.

Far under that, the battery is doing all the work, and it will quit.

    Alternator replacement
  3. 7:52 AM · Ten minutes in

    Needle creeping toward H.

A sweet smell, a drip at the front of the engine or a wobbly pump pulley.

Caught early, a water pump job saves the engine.

    Water pump replacement
  4. 7:55 AM · First stop sign

    Grinding at the stop.

Squeal, grind or a pedal that pulses usually means pads worn thin or rotors warped.

Indiana road salt speeds both along.

    Brakes and rotors
  5. 7:58 AM · Pothole season

    Clunk over every bump.

A clunk, a bounce that won’t settle or a drift to one side points at struts, links or joints.

    We find the loose piece.

    Suspension repair
  6. 8:10 AM · On I-69

    Check engine light. Shaking.

A flashing light and a shake often mean a misfire.

We read the codes, then test the part before anything gets replaced.

  7. Saturday · In the driveway

Due for oil. No shop visit.

Oil and filter, fluids, belts and a look underneath, done where the car already sits.

    Repair and maintenance

Wherever it quit, call or text (765) 830-4998.

An example morning, drawn to explain symptoms. It is not a real job and not to scale.

Most symptoms have more than one cause, so we test before we replace anything.

One real call, start to finish

The chain said it couldn’t be that. It was.

A real Google review, in the customer’s own words.

The diagnosis came first, and it held up after a two-hour second look.

  1. On an errandmy break pedal went to the floor at the end of my block.
  2. The callI called him and he came out and found the problem
  3. Somewhere elseLater I took it to a chain to get it fixed.
  4. Two hours inAfter 2 hours looking they finally checked what he said was wrong
  5. The verdictand found out he was right.

I started out on an errand and my break pedal went to the floor at the end of my block.I called him and he came out and found the problem but unfortunately I didnt have the funds to fix it. Later I took it to a chain to get it fixed. Even though I told them what he had said they said that couldn’t be the problem. After 2 hours looking they finally checked what he said was wrong and found out he was right. Had circumstances allowed I would have had him fix it. His charge for coming out and looking was very reasonable for me on social security.
